LSNYC’s Disability Advocacy Project assists New Yorkers whose federal disability benefits have been denied or discontinued. We work with individuals who have been denied either Disability Insurance (Title II) benefits or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. We provide assistance at all stages of appeals or federal court proceedings for clients seeking Title II or SSI benefits based on disability. The LSNYC DAP Neighborhood Network operates multiple offices serving a wide range of disabled clients in every borough, as well as a citywide program to identify and address systemic barriers to the administration of disability benefits. We also conduct extensive outreach, education and intake through our more than 80 community partners, most of whom serve our target population of low-income, disabled individuals.

Our Legal Assistance Hotline is open Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 4pm. Call 917-661-4500 to speak to an intake officer in any language.
