Our clients are not defined by their legal struggles
At Legal Services NYC, we believe that just because you don’t have a high income doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get high-quality legal help. Our advocacy and services reflect the diverse needs of the communities we serve and we work to reduce systemic barriers and expand access to justice.
Our clients are our partners – they bring solutions to some of the hardest legal and social obstacles, and our role is to listen, engage, and advocate for the solutions they need. We endeavor to treat each client with the compassion, dignity and respect they deserve. We also build and leverage relationships with community based organizations and advocates to achieve better outcomes.
As we fight for justice for our clients and community we encourage our staff to acknowledge their own cultural values, beliefs, and preconceptions and take appropriate steps to challenge those biases in the interest of better serving our clients. We regularly employ resources such as interpreters and other experts to ensure that we are providing our clients with thorough and effective representation.
