“Winning the LexPrize is a testament to the power of innovation in public interest law,” LSNYC’s Chief Operating Officer Alexander Horwitz said. “Our KM Portal is more than just a tool—it’s a transformative platform that allows our staff to collaborate effectively and provide even better support to the communities we serve.”
LSNYC, and partners Sente Advisors, received the award for its development of the Legal Services NYC KM Portal, a cutting-edge internal knowledge management system designed to enhance collaboration among its 700 staff, improve access to critical resources, and streamline the delivery of legal services to the more than 110,000 New York City residents it serves each year.
The portal is a unique blend of social network, intranet, and enterprise search. It features user-submitted and curated knowledge, making resources highly searchable and accessible. This user-centered design ensures that LSNYC staff can navigate complex legal challenges with ease and efficiency, ultimately enhancing access to justice for their clients.
