Just days before Christmas, Legal Services NYC helped restore a mother and her five young children to their home after a sudden and devastating eviction. Client TK—whose youngest children are just 3 months and 14 months old—lost her job due to pregnancy discrimination and fell behind on rent after being forced onto unpaid parental leave twice in one year. Although she receives CityFHEPS rental assistance, delays in adjusting her share put her family at risk.
