Our Community & Economic Development practice is dedicated to promoting equitable economic development in our city’s neighborhoods by providing legal support to nonprofit and community based-organizations, neighborhood-based entrepreneurs, small businesses, worker cooperatives, and housing cooperatives. Our goal is to protect the diversity of our city’s neighborhoods, expand affordable housing, support small businesses, strengthen community control, and prevent the extraction of wealth from our city’s longstanding communities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have helped small business owners, worker cooperatives, and sole proprietors stay on top of important developments and explore legal strategies to lessen the impact of the pandemic on their businesses and employees.
