Changes to the Legal Services NYC Board of Directors

Legal Services NYC has seen a number of changes to our Board of Directors in recent months.

In May, seven departing members were recognized for their years of service to the organization. They included Carmen Cognetta and Patricia Randolph (5 years), Glenn Lau-Kee (7 years), Migdalia Mata and Malvina Nathanson (8 years), Klaus Eppler (12 years) and Harvey E. Blitz (25 years).

The Board has also welcomed ten (10) new board members recently, including: Jenny Ortiz-Bowman, Vincent T. Chang (Partner, Wullmuth Maher & Deutsch, LLP), Pui Chi Cheng (Principal, Cheng & Associates PLLC), Frederica-Azania Clare, John P. Hooper (Partner, Reed Smith LLP), Jack P. Jackson (Partner, Proskauer Rose LLP), Sonia Santana, Diana Sen (Senior Litigation Associate, Fried Frank), Karen Patton Seymour (Partner, Sullivan and Cromwell LLP), and Darin Wizenberg, Esq. Legal Services NYCthe largest organization exclusively devoted to providing free civil legal services in the United States, with neighborhood offices in every borough of New York City—provides free help on cases involving housing, family, domestic violence, public benefits, income tax, employment, education, consumer rights and economic development.  Legal Services NYC programs include Legal Services NYC-Bronx, Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Legal Services, Brooklyn Family Defense Project, Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A, Legal Services NYC-Brooklyn Branch, South Brooklyn Legal Services, Manhattan Legal Services, Queens Legal Services, Staten Island Legal Services, and the Legal Services NYC Legal Support Unit. Funding for the Legal Services NYC programs comes from the Legal Services Corporation, grants from the city, the state and federal agencies, private foundations, United Way of New York City, the New York State Interest on Lawyers Account Fund and private donations.
