Adam Heintz - Director of Pro Bono Services
Adam Heintz is LSNYC's Director of Pro Bono Services. Mr. Heintz works with staff and pro bono partners to create and manage pro bono projects, place cases, and access in-kind resources from more than 100 major law firms and corporations. He has created more than twenty pro bono initiatives, including projects focused on LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, immigration relief for victims of violence, naturalizations, housing conditions, public benefits, transgender name changes, and more - which collectively benefit nearly 7,000 low-income individuals annually. Mr. Heintz has secured a record seven Pro Bono Innovation Fund grants from the Legal Services Corporation.  
 
Prior to joining LSNYC, Mr. Heintz spent six years as a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster, LLP, where he maintained an active pro bono docket. He clerked for the Hon. Cheryl L. Pollak, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York. Mr. Heintz has served on the Pro Bono Advisory Council for New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. He is also a founding member of the Brooklyn Family Defense Project’s Associate Advisory Board. Previously, Mr. Heintz was employed as the HIV-Related Violence Program Coordinator at the New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, and as Director of Education at the Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project. Mr. Heintz received his B.A. from Oberlin College, and J.D. from NYU Law School.
 
Seth Hoy - Director of Communications
Seth Hoy is LSNYC’s Director of Communications. With more than ten years of communications and advocacy experience advancing human and civil rights, Mr. Hoy creates and implements communication strategies that amplify LSNYC’s work internally and externally.
 
Prior to LSNYC, Mr. Hoy served as Director of Public Information at the NYC Commission on Human Rights where he successfully implemented strategies that positioned the agency as a credible venue for justice for New Yorkers among key stakeholders and the media. Prior to the Commission, Mr. Hoy worked as Deputy Communications Director at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law promoting the Center’s staff and programmatic work, specifically in the areas of civil liberties, national security, and fair courts. Mr. Hoy also previously worked at the American Immigration Council in Washington D.C. as Digital Communications Manager. He received a B.A. in English from Boston College.
 
Tanya Silas - Director of Development
Tanya Silas is LSNYC's Director of Development, overseeing all private fundraising efforts. Prior to joining LSNYC in June 2015, Tanya was part of the development team at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest for 10 years, and was the Assistant Director of Development since 2008. Tanya received an M.A. in Corporate Communication from Baruch College and an M.A. in Communication from the University of Madras, India.
