NYC BAP and its volunteer attorneys provide indispensable assistance to people who desperately need a lawyer in order to pursue bankruptcy relief. With the help of a NYC BAP volunteer, a debtor's case is far more likely to succeed. The Bankruptcy Court depends on NYC BAP and its volunteers to help us meet the promise of access to justice for all and a fresh start for the honest but unfortunate debtor.

Petitions Filed Debt Discharged Success Rate

For over a decade, the New York City Bankruptcy Assistance Project (NYC BAP) has been helping New York’s most vulnerable residents feed, clothe, and provide shelter for themselves and their families. We have filed more than 2,100 bankruptcy cases, and obtained the discharge of over $72 million of debt, as NYC BAP has grown into the most innovative and effective pro bono bankruptcy program in the U.S. In 2017 alone, NYC BAP was able to serve 755 clients and family members while discharging over $6.7 million of debt.

NYC BAP is able to provide these services with the generous financial support of firms and individuals. Please make a contribution today!

All funds received will be used in a manner that is consistent with the Legal Services Corporation Act (42 USC 2996 et. seq.) and regulations (45 CFR 1600 et. seq.).
