Legal Services NYC (LSNYC) serves more than 106,000 low-income New Yorkers every year. As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, many of these individuals and families are out of work and without access to income or safety nets to meet basic needs.

With the generous support of hundreds of individual generous donors and a grant from the Robin Hood Foundation, LSNYC created a COVID-19 Client Emergency Relief Fund* in the spring of 2020. Over the course of six months until the fund closed in the fall of 2020, we disbursed $192,115 in emergency cash grants to 287 families over six months, helping them to purchase desperately needed emergency supplies like groceries and medicine.

As the city slowly recovers, many of our clients remain out of work and continue to face formidable barriers in getting access to public benefits. Our clients are people we know. We know just how difficult their lives were before the pandemic hit and have witnessed the exacerbation of all their poverty-related problems over the past year. LSNYC is re-opening the Client Fund to help our clients who are still struggling.

All donations on this page will go to our client fund, supporting directly to our neighbors who are most in need, helping them out of the immediate crises they are experiencing, and providing a bridge to a more stable future.

* The COVID Client Relief Fund will be operated through LSNYC's Manhattan program, Manhattan Legal Services, on behalf of our clients citywide.
