This clinic helps low-income veterans with legal issues that are core to their lives: income, housing, and family law. In particular, volunteers help veterans with SSI/SSD disability benefits (including filing initial applications, advice about a range of problems accessing these benefits, and appeals), housing concerns, and child support downward modifications. When pandemic safety permits, the clinic will again be held on the first Monday of each month at the VA Hospital on East 23rd Street. Military Mondays is a joint project of Legal Services NYC, Skadden, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Barclays, BNY Mellon, HSBC, Pfizer, Estee Lauder, and Starbucks.
