Staten Island Legal Services (a program of Legal Services NYC) Staff Attorney Joseph Sant and his client, Agnes Jaiman, are a featured success story in the New York Community Trust's 2009 Annual Report. Manhattan Legal Services (also a program of LS-NYC) Director of Litigation Chaumtoli Huq also appears in the publication released this month.

Joseph's success in helping his client avoid foreclosure by acheiving a significant loan modification is chronicled beginning on page 11 of the PDF; a photo of the two together appears on page 6. Chaumtoli is quoted on page 15.

The New York Community trust was honored as a "Visionary Leader" at the 2009 Legal Services NYC Jazz for Justice Benefit. In 2010, NYCT made a $1,200,000 grant enabling Legal Services NYC to continue a partnership with the Legal Aid Society that provides legal services for low-income New Yorkers who are threatened with destitution.
