Federation of Cuban Women Visits SILS Above: Staten Island Legal Services receives a visit from representatives of the Federation of Cuban Women, who are in New York for a conference at the United Nations for the Commission on the Status of Women (Beijing 15 conference). From left to right, Yamilla Gonzalez Ferrer (Secretary of the Cuban Society of Civil and Family Law and daughter of the founder of the Federation of Cuban Women), Nancy Goldhill (SILS Project Director), Ana Violeta Castañeda (Regional Coordinator for FMC) and Maritzel Gonzalez-Quevedo (Official of Foreign Relations, FMC). We took them on a tour of Family Court where they were able to interview one of our attorney referees about how custody cases are heard and decided.
