Manhattan Legal Services' Tracey Bing Honored by NYC Bar

Manhattan Legal Services Family Law Unit Director Tracy Bing (above, second from left) was honored on June 13th with a New York City Bar Legal Services Award. The awards are given annually to recognize to attorneys and non-attorneys who provide outstanding civil legal assistance to New York’s poor. 

Pictured above from left, Carey Dunne, the bar group's president and a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell; and honorees Tracey Bing, Family Law/Domestic Violence Unit, Manhattan Legal Services; Jane Sujen Bock, Homeless Rights Project, Legal Aid Society; Nelson Gutierrez, Elderly Project, Volunteers of Legal Services; Leah Margulies, Law Help/NY Project; Ivy Suriyopas, Anti-Trafficking Initiative, Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. Zerline Goodman, the wife of Michael Rothenberg, the former executive director of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest who passed away earlier this year, accepted a posthumous award for her husband.

Awards were presented by the Hon. Theodore Jones, Judge of the New York Court of Appeals. The awards are administered by the Special Committee on the Legal Services Awards, chaired by William T. Russell, Jr., and sponsored by the Committee on Pro Bono and Legal Services, chaired by Stacey O’Haire Fahey.  The awards have been endowed by a generous contribution from the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation.
