Get InvolvedStudent Internships Staten Island Legal Services accepts law student applications for internships. We offer law students opportunities to work closely with lawyers on a wide variety of cases, interact with clients and attend court proceedings. Students can also represent clients at administrative hearings. Lawyers provide close supervision. Interns can work part-time during the school year and full time during the summer. Students generally work in a few different areas of law to gain exposure to more than one type of legal practice. We handle cases involving domestic violence, immigration, foreclosure prevention, and government benefits, including unemployment and disability benefits. Interested individuals should send a resume and a cover letter indicating their area(s) of interest to Nancy Goldhill, Project Director at ngoldhill [at] silsnyc.org.
Staten Island Legal Services welcomes members of the bar who wish to serve as pro bono counsel or co-counsel for low-income clients who otherwise would not have access to legal help. Please contact Nancy Goldhill, Project Director, at ngoldhill [at] silsnyc.org if you are interested in taking a case on a pro bono basis or offering other assistance to Staten Island Legal Services.
Staten Island Legal Services welcomes fellowship applicants. We encourage fellowship applicants who seek to expand the work we are already involved or start a new project that enhances our ability to serve low-income Staten Islanders. Interested applicants can send a resume and cover letter indicating their area of interest and any ideas they have for a project to Nancy Goldhill, Project Director, at ngoldhill [at] silsnyc.org.
